On the Efficiency Objection to Workplace Democracy

Are workers dominated? A recent suite of neo-republican and relational egalitarian philosophers think they are. Suppose are right; that is, suppose some governed by an unjust arbitrary power existing in labour relations, which persists even the presence actual ability to exit. My question is this: does give us reason impose restrictions on firms? According so-called Efficiency Objection there relevant trade-offs need be considered between efficiency firms freedom workers, upon considering these trade-offs, we should reject workplace democracy. In this paper, I present a dilemma for Objection. argue either justified moral grounds or non-moral grounds; if grounds, then it fails because cannot valued its own sake (it only instrumentally good); respect owe persons as persons; therefore, fails.
